Part of the onboarding process
Ethics and Compliance are instilled among all of our employees as part of our onboarding process at SHV India. This helps to ensure that our people connect with the SHV way-of-working from the first stages of their career with us. For instance, our graduate trainees receive a month-long induction program that contains specific sessions devoted entirely to Ethics and Compliance, embedding these values among employees fresh out of college.
Part of continuous training
We also run a quarterly webinar program for lateral hires that moves beyond the traditional induction programme to take participants through SHV’s specific Ethics and Compliance requirements. In fact, Ethics and Compliance form an important element in all of our training programmes, whether they are dealing with functional skills or soft skills. Each step of the way, we make sure to refresh and reiterate these values to our existing employees. In 2017, 284 colleagues participated in our e-learning modules and tests on Competition Compliance and Gifts and Improper Payments. A further 66 colleagues were trained on Ethics & Compliance in a session conducted at our Corporate Office in Hyderabad. Participant response has been very good – they find the e-learning modules very user-friendly and interesting, and are able to easily absorb and successfully complete the modules.
Setting an example from the top down
Of course, our Senior Leadership team makes sure to continuously emphasise the significance that SHV India attaches to these topics. They communicate and reiterate how essential it is to integrate Ethics and Compliance throughout our business.
